Eric Poston aka Ducati James – Attorney, Rapper, Entrepreneur from South Carolina

ERIC C. POSTON, ESQ.

Lawyer. Rapper. Future President.

About Eric.

Eric Chalmers Poston (born August 30, 1987), known by his stage name Ducati James, is an American rapper, producer, lawyer, and philanthropist. He is best known for his work with the musical duo Fleetwood & Ducati James, alongside his brother Lane Strom Poston (Fleetwood). The duo has gained significant attention for their unique blend of hip-hop and their engaging music videos.

Early Life.

Born and raised in South Carolina, Poston graduated magna cum laude from Duke University in 2009 and completed his Juris Doctor from the University of Virginia in 2015. Despite his successful legal career, Poston had a passion for music and eventually transitioned into the hip-hop industry.

Think We Famous.

Their music videos have garnered millions of views on YouTube, establishing them as prominent figures in the hip-hop community. Ducati James is known for his distinctive style and lyrical prowess, which have earned him a dedicated fan base. In addition to their music, Ducati James and Fleetwood launched their own music label, Chakhead Clique Music Group.

18+.

Arguably the most absurd content currently accessible to the public on the YouTube platform, their video for "Jenna Jameson" has over 56.3 million views on YouTube. Another highly questionable work of art,  "Innocent (Sidney Moorer)" was produced in honor of his client Sidney Moorer and featured on WorldstarHipHop's YouTube Channel.

The Lawyer

In addition to his music career, Ducati James runs the Chalmers Poston law firm in South Carolina. He has appeared on local TV channels across the state for his involvement in publicly-known cases. His dual career as a lawyer and rapper makes him a unique figure in both the legal and music industries.

In 2019, Poston made headlines when he resigned from his position at Richardson Plowden, a business-defense law firm, to focus on his own practice and music career. He has been vocal about the challenges and corruption within the legal system, advocating for transparency and justice.

In a podcast episode with South Carolina Criminal Lawyer Dayne Phillips, Poston discussed his journey and the intersection of his legal and music careers. In 2020, Poston gained further attention when he released a rap video proclaiming his client's innocence.

Poston has also represented Tammy and Sidney Moorer in a civil suit against police agencies over the investigation into Heather Elvis' disappearance. The Moorers claimed their constitutional rights were violated and faced harassment after being named suspects. In anticipation of filing a $100 million lawsuit, Poston recorded and produced "Innocent" in honor of his client. In 2025, Poston decided to delay filing the civil lawsuit ahead of Sidney Moorer's retrial.

Philanthropy.

Poston is also recognized for his philanthropic efforts. He runs The Poston Foundation, also known as "Carolina Cares," which focuses on providing goods and services to the homeless and indigent residents of North and South Carolina. The Foundation uses monetary and other donations to improve the lives of those who need it most. Carolina Cares has been actively involved in various charitable activities, including efforts to combat the COVID-19 pandemic.
